At AEA, we know what it takes to make your heating system work for you. Preventative maintenance keeps your heating system working in top condition, and can keep emergency repairs at bay.
If you live in an older house, parts of your home likely perpetually overheat while others stay chronically cold. To get it just right, you have to look at the heating system and the building envelope (or the boundary between the conditioned and unconditioned air) at the same time. Comfort is a measure of home performance.
In older homes, it helps to first control heat loss and improve comfort by reducing air leakage and increasing insulation, then tackle a heating system upgrade, like a high-efficiency Carrier furnace or a mini split heat pump system. The right sized equipment will save you money on home heating and cooling.
Residential HVAC systems are often oversized. Nobody ever complained about being too comfortable, so put in a bigger furnace, right?
Oversized equipment can cause comfort problems, including:
Poor air circulation
Hot and cold spots
Besides keeping you uncomfortable, oversized equipment costs you money. It costs more to purchase bigger capacity heating or cooling equipment. The reduction in operating efficiency means there you will have higher operating costs than you expect. That’s where we come in!
